This app was released in iTunes 2 days ago and it has already rocketed to the number 7 slot of all paid apps. That’s an incredible achievement for just a 2 day’s availability. Popular Mechanics Interactive Edition falls nicely into the category of magazine apps. As far as I’m concerned, this magazine app by Hearst Communications Inc is the best I’ve seen on the market so far. It is brilliant, so it is no surprise at its phenomenal early success.

They’d fall right down into the dirt. Hubris is great, especially where advertisers and game developers are concerned. Funsuma Games, the developers of Starpagga, seem to be suffering from a bit of hubris. When you make the claim, “StarPagga is arguably the best multiplayer 3D space-shooter on the App Store” you’d better be sure of yourself. Otherwise someone is going to prove you wrong and you’re going to land squarely with your face in the mud.

Another journey into the hyperreality of anime and manga today with superb wallpapers based on the latest graphic novels. These striking pictures look great on your home screen and they are also great as a scrolling picture display. I love the darker use of color and imagery associated with manga and anime illustrations, especially those frames that are certainly ‘not for children’. All the images chosen here are not nearly as blood-gushing as they could be… maybe I’ll do a late night edition with an R rating.

You won’t find a plethora of complaints from most people when it comes to the iPad. Many are so happy to have the device in their hands and are too busy delving into all of its features to notice its shortcomings. The iPad is not perfect, though, and surely you will always have naysayers that will find something negative to say. In reality, one valid complaint concerning the device is its lack of an integrated camera. iPad News: April Fools becomes July Prototype
Back in early spring, www.thinkgeek.com published a fantastic April Fool’s item that had loads of people hoping it was actually real. They called it the iCade iPad Arcade Cabinet. Designed to satiate the thirst for all things retro in iPad gaming, this cabinet would allow users to slot their iPads neatly into the cabinet then use the old style joy stick and buttons to play their favorite old fashioned games such as Pac Man and Donkey Kong. This was all an April Fool. However, it seems that some intrepid entrepreneur has seen a market for such a device and is already working on a prototype.
