Let’s say that you are a media freak. You love music and have more songs on your computer than one could imagine. You also love movies and video just as much, and have an impressive library on your computer that has built up over the years. You might be a bit lazy and do not feel like transferring or converting all these media files over to the iPad. How will you be able to enjoy them then on your tablet? Do you just call it a loss and chalk it up to laziness, or do you have another option? Luckily, you can access all of those media files from your computer with the iPad, via the StreamToMe application.

StreamToMe is an app that takes all the dirty work out of the enjoyment of media files that exist on your laptop or computer. Depending on your personal library, the process of conversion and transfer to the iPad could be a real pain. I don’t know about you, but when I want to listen to a bunch of songs from my favorite artist or watch a particular flick, I want to do it right then and there. Waiting for a long time is not an option. StreamToMe seems to be tailor made for us folks that value simplicity and their time.

Before we get into how to use this app, let’s discuss one major problem that it may solve besides your instant yearning for media: storage space. Say you bought the 16GB version of the iPad. Depending on your love for media, that may be nowhere near enough storage for all of your content. If you house that content on your computer, however, and just stream it to the iPad, the storage problem becomes a thing of the past. Many people may find this space-saving characteristic of the app to be its main attraction.

Okay, so all of this sounds great. How do you get it to work, and is it complicated? Not at all. First, you will want to download the StreamToMe app to your iPad. Once that is complete, you need to install the ServeToMe app on you computer. When these two downloads and installations are finished, you will be able to see your computer’s shared data via the iPad.

Your mileage may vary as to the app’s performance when used with your computer, but it does a good job of streaming the content for the most part. It supports various popular file formats, allows you to play all files in a single folder, can shuffle content to give you a change of pace, and much more.

If you are looking to save some time as well as storage space, download StreamToMe to increase your iPad’s entertainment value.
